Integrating value stream mapping and control theory to create a rich, realistic, and relevant dynamic supply chain model

Abstract

In this paper, we present new supply chain modelling methodology, integrating value stream mapping and control theory principles. This model is able to capture the dynamics of three lead times - the customer, production and supplier lead times; and two inventory replenishment policies; one fro finished goods inventories and the other for raw material inventory.
